Stories of Joy
Dreadlocks
In the little town we live, and you’ll see all types of people with dreadlocks.
One day Mom and I were at the grocery store and she was pushing the cart. I had stopped to rummage for my reading glasses to look at the back of a package and when I looked over she was down the aisle near a young lady with very long dreadlocks. By the time I walked up I heard Mom saying, “Well maybe you just need a better shampoo and leave the conditioner in for a while.” I think my mouth was hanging open. The lady patted Mom’s hand and said, ” Thank you for the advise.” And then smiled and walked away. My Mom then strutted back to the cart like she had just helped her solve the riddle of how to untangle her hair. – Karen.
Christmas x 2
Camille’s Mom woke up 3 days after Christmas and saw the tree and was very excited that it was Christmas. Camille says she panicked and grabbed some of the presents she had given her Mom and wrapped them. Then thought that her Mom would feel sad if she did not give any presents to “Camile” so she wrapped some of her own stuff. She stuck tags on everything and put them under the tree.
She cut some of the banana bread and brought it and cups of coffee in the living room.
She said that Mom was so happy with her presents and loved them all – again. It was a better Christmas than the one 3 days ago
